Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

The president explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president informed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Community Support

Attendees came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that instructors hoped for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the media. “She was kind, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Revisions

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with one count of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event led the government to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general informed the program that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with excellence, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” the governor told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
