The Initial Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The two games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Compelling Indie Titles
Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Well-Rounded Collection
In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription by themselves. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they were due initially — which makes them ideal prospects to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
