Slot Asserts He Is Secure and Has Liverpool's Support Following PSV Defeat

The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it was natural for concerns to be raised about his future after another convincing defeat against PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool endured their ninth loss in 12 games, marking the club's poorest run after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a punishing night at their home ground.

“I feel secure, I am OK, I have got a lot of backing from the top,” Slot stated.

“It's important to reverse this trend and earn three points of course but when you're in a managerial role and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked.”

He continued, “I'm comfortable with my role. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a tough spot but it is about time that we turned it around.”

Discussions with Club Management

When asked to elaborate on his discussions with the club's leadership, the head coach said:

“We communicate frequently. They are supportive to the team and for me and those talks happen but they don’t call me all the time of the day to say they trust me.”

He added, “In the normal exchanges I feel the belief. But I've not talked to them after this game so far so we'll see.”

Recurring Issues and Squad Reaction

Slot lamented known failings from his team in their Champions League defeat, namely poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more forthright in his view of the club’s predicament.

“I don’t have the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones stated.

“It's simply unacceptable. I don't need to wait to think about it. I’m past feeling anger inside. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the vocabulary.”

He continued, “It's difficult because I play for the side I follow. I'm a supporter, and I’ve seen this club for years.”

“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team experiencing a spell such as this with outcomes like these.”

He stated, “However we still have that badge on our shirts. And as long as that badge is gone, we will always compete.”

“Our aim is to get this team back to its rightful place, demonstrate to all again what Liverpool stands for and the reason it's called the greatest side in the world.”

“At this moment, we’re in the shit and it must improve.”
