Edwards as well as Gary O'Neil Included in Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Rob Edwards and O'Neil represent the initial names in the frame to replace the former manager as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was sacked on the weekend following the squad's 10-match without a victory start to the top-flight season.

And Edwards and O'Neil - each of whom have previous associations to the team - are part of the names to be evaluated by the club leadership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would pose a potential obstacle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton manager - who made over a century of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is considered a leading candidate for the position.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys backing from the club board as they begin the process of appointing a new manager.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a surprise candidate, although he would be a shock choice given he was released by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United midfielder is currently unemployed meaning the club would not need to provide any buyout fee.
