British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community had expressed its support for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
