Barcelona Ready for First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in domestic competition over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
